Boy am I glad that week is over! Prior to last week had only a small amount of nauseousness, mostly limited to the first few weeks. (That may have been more panic related than pregnancy related though...) The week of the blueberry though...HOLY COW, suffice it to say it NOT a good week.
I've had a very sensitive stomach all my life, eat to much greasy food = sick, not enough sleep = sick, too much activity = sick. I've had my far share of both nauseousness & heartburn, but normally it was not a simultaneous mix of the two. It was like a burning ball o' pukie-ness. Not pretty.
Typically in a situation like this Tums are my friend. No such luck with this stuff. I spent the entire evening Wednesday (? they all blend together...) stuck in bed in the fetal position (lol, no pun intended, but I like it nonetheless).
Finally, after being miserable for several days my amazing co-workers went to work on how to fix me (I think they were getting tired of my pathetic faces and sighs and decided to take pity on me). After consulting the Internets / Wikipedia I began logging my food and went off to Trader Joes to get Triple Ginger Snaps and some Ginger Ale. Thank my lucky stars, only minutes after scarfing down the first few came the relief. It was amazing and they are quite tasty. AND hubby thinks they are they are an "insult to gingersnaps." So, I don't have to worry about Mr. No Self-Control eating all of the only thing between me and constant suffering! (He always promises to buy me more...and of course never does. This time he would though, or face feeling the full wrath of my "craziness." Now, I can save that for something else down the road :P)
I also figured out what was the culprit in causing these shenanigans! Spicy-ness. Not the mouth is burning, sweat causing kind of spicy, just very mild, don't even register it spicy. Chipotle BBQ Sauce = Nauseous Burn. Sriracha in my Ketchup = Nauseous Burn (Ok, maybe I asked for that one... considering I ate it with Tater-tots). 5 (YES ONLY 5!!) Jalapeno Cheetos = Nauseous Burn.
Luckily, now I know (and am always carrying around and emergency ration of gingersnaps).
Now to see what the week of the Raspberry / Kidney Bean has in store for me.
Sorry about bringing the Cheetos into your house. Good thing you didn't eat the Spicy Doritos too
