Light-bulb moment

This last weekend I had a realization. I'm going to need a new car or I am going to hate my life. It's ok that my car is very standard when it is just me. I can handle unlocking the door with a key, manual everything, not to mention no A/C. It does have anchors, so that is good, considering it has a tape deck (not that anyone was listening to tapes in 2003) and don't think all cars came with anchors at that point in time.

The thing that worries me the most is the manual locks. I literally have to unlock the door, open it and reach around to unlock the back door. I know that it was done that way for a long time, but this is 2012. You can walk up to the car and have it unlock without ever getting your key out. So much more convenient when you are carrying around a car seat with a bundle of joy inside... (somehow I don't think putting a baby on top of the car like it is a coffee cup will quite be acceptable...) I am rather drawn to the idea...

I brought the idea up with hubby on Friday night when we were out to eat. What was his response... "Or, we could move to Norway." He did go on to explain why Norway was such a good place to live... but Norway?!?! Big step up from needing a new car...*eye roll & head shake* Boys.

I'm not sure if I just got shot down, or if he was avoiding the subject...

Maybe I can get him to go car shopping this weekend... I do have a long drive to Eastern Washington the next weekend... And I am sneaking up on my 60,000 mile service (I know 2003 and I'm ALMOST to 60K... I did say it has manual everything, no A/C and a tape deck, right?). It could be the perfect time to trade in...
